The principle is the use of microwave irradiation of microwave drying wet body, make the whole body evenly heating up to reach the purpose of drying. This overcomes the problem of inconsistent drying speed between the surface and the interior of thick honeycomb ceramics. It also solves issues such as low strength before drying, difficult handling, and easy cracking after drying.
Compared with conventional drying, microwave drying has good uniformity, energy saving, environmental protection and high efficiency. For porous materials like honeycomb ceramics where moisture content is high and walls are thin, traditional methods often fail due to unequal heating and poor thermal conductivity. Microwave processing prevents deformation and maintains porosity and specific surface area.
